The Aryaghat alongside Pashupati and on the banks of the Bagmati River is a famous funeral site for the Hindus. The Buddhist shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world, and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destinations in Kathmandu. The Durbar Square is full of ancient places, temples and shrines, noted for their exquisite carvings, mostly the Hindu and Buddhist monuments. Bhaktapur & Changu Narayan Tour(Meal: Breakfast)
We will wake up early this morning to enjoy the spectacular mountain views at Sunrise. Your hotel faces East& enjoys great views, but you can also walk to the viewing tower outside the village if you wish.
After breakfast, we enjoy an easy, mainly downhill walk through the Tilkot Forest Reserve to the faded and crumbling beauty of the Changu Narayan Temple. It is approx about 2 and a half hours of easy walking. You’ll have great views over the Kathmandu valley to either side of the ridge you’re descending, and after leaving the forest pass through tiny Chhetri villages and learn about the local farming techniques on the steep terraced hillsides.
Our afternoon is spent touring the ancient center of Bhaktapur with its many squares and temples, and stunning old wooden architecture.
